Bożena Knecht (also known as Momoko)

In 1982, she graduated from the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Kraków (now the Józef Kluza State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Kraków), and subsequently completed her studies at the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków.
She is a Polish painter, photographer, art conservator, writer, and author of the book "ME YUMIKO". She lives and works in Kraków, where she is employed at the Painting and Sculpture Conservation Studio in the Bishop Erazm Ciołek Palace, a branch of the National Museum in Kraków.
Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions (including "Onna/Ona" at the Gallery of the Institute of Art History at the University of Łódź, 2022) as well as dozens of group exhibitions both in Poland and abroad (including Switzerland, Norway, and Germany). She has also participated in major art events such as Krakow Photo Fringe and Cracow Art Week KRAKERS.
In her artistic practice, she explores themes of femininity and physicality, drawing significant inspiration from Japanese culture.
