Iza Rostworowska

Izabela Roztworowska was born in Poland. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 1984, with the degree in Interior Design and Scenography, and then subsequently attained a Masters in postgraduate studies at the Department of TV, Film and Theater Scenography at the same Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.

Izabela pursued her creative interests in scenography, interior design and sculpture.

She has worked as a stage designer for theater production, jewelry and glass, collectable dolls, and in interior design.

For the past 15 years Izabela has been involved in the creation of miniature sculptures in bronze. She uses traditional casting with wax, a technique which has been used since the Neolithic period to cast bronze.  During this process the wax sculpture melts, making each bronze piece original and unique.

Her sculptures were presented at many exhibitions in Poland and abroad: in Denmark, Germany, the United Kingdom and Canada.

Izabela is known in the artistic community for her controversial views and is very active on Internet forums. She lives and works in renown  bohemian part of Cracow, Salwator, inhabited for 100 years by many prominent Cracow scientists, writers and artists.
